Abandoned in a garden at just a few weeks old TEDDY is at the moment relaxing and safe in a large dog playpen in the lounge. Sadly we really are full to overflowing with a long waiting list of cats and kittens that need to be brought in. And until we have more adoptions we cannot take any more.

Just what did this tiny 9 week old kitten do that was so wrong ? He was buried in a large municipal rubbish container and covered with refuse. The brave little soul made a tunnel and clawed his way to the top. And thankfully someone saw his little bright eyes looking up at them. It makes us so an...

I met Judy and Alan in the summer. Their compassion, knowledge and commitment to nurturing, caring and homing abandoned and poorly cats amazed me. They work so hard at their refuge with little time for anything else! We are looking forward to giving 2 kittens a home in December. Thanks to you both. Nicola and Tim

Judy and Alan are such wonderful, caring people. The cats in the care are loved as if they are their own, but the cats and kittens all need to have their own special home.

Chats de Chatillon refuge is situated in Deux Sevres (dept 79) in France close to Parthenay. The wooden cabins where our rescued cats and kittens reside until they find a new home are well insulated, and in winter they are gently heated by infra-red lamps.
The enclosures are well-protected from wind, rain and excessive sun, and have built in bunk-beds and boxes, with thick cushions and warm covers. They are also fitted with a cat door so they can go in and out of their enclosure at any time.

Love and Affection
When the cats and kittens come to us they have generally been injured, abandoned or badly neglected. They receive all the medical care and love that they need to repair their damaged bodies and minds. We help them learn to trust humans again. All are vaccinated, FIV tested, and identity-tagged. At the appropriate age they are also sterilised.

We are always looking for loving people to adopt them, where they will be assured happy-ever-after homes. It is so lovely to hear how well they are doing and to go and visit. The more adoptions we can achieve, the more cats and kittens we can save.

Fund-raising & Donations
Running a refuge takes a great deal of money to give our cats all the help and aftercare they deserve. We are extremely grateful to anyone who wishes to fund-raise on the charity's behalf or make donations of cash, food and cat litter.
All kinds of donations are very welcome!

Le Pension de Chats
In addition to the refuge, we have one enclosure available to rent as a cattery/pension for when cat owners want to take a holiday. The donations we receive from the cattery raises much needed funding which helps with maintenance, care for the cats and kittens and regular vets' bills.

Come and Play
We actively encourage children and adults to come and spend time playing and cuddling the cats and kittens. It helps us to understand how they react with people and also helps the cats build up trust in humans.

At Chats de Chattillon we try to give them everything we possibly can to make their recovery time and stay with us as comfortable and happy as possible. When they find loving, adoptive homes, it's with mixed emotions - a little sadness at seeing them go, but a lot of happiness knowing they will get the love and affection they so desperately need.

Valuable Volunteers
Anyone who volunteers to help with their daily care is greeted with open arms. Whether it is to help with cleaning out and feeding, or to spend time cuddling and playing, the volunteers make a very valuable contribution to the welfare of our little darlings.

Thank You
We sincerely offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone that has provided a foster home or adopted one of our cats and kittens.

Our hearts are filled with joy, when we hear how they are getting on and see them growing stronger, healthier and more beautiful in their new homes.

For all the donations, small and large, thank you so much. Your contributions help to save lives.

And finally, thank you for visiting our page and taking the time to read our story. It means a lot to us because it shows that you care.
